Tenth Annual Pinos Altos Art Fair
NO FAIR IN 2010
Pinos Altos Art FairPinosAltos was formed as an early mining town in Grant County, and stillretains its historic feel and original architecture. To find it and theArt Fair, take New Mexico Highway 15 just 7 miles from its intersectionwith Highway 180 in Silver City.

Love fine art? Come to the annual Pinos Altos Art Fair in early summer.The fair features more than 40 talented artists and fine crafters.Special “Artist in Action” booths are set up with local artisansdemonstrating pottery making and looming.

The fair is sponsored by the local businesses of Pinos Altos incoordination with the GrantCounty Art Guild.

Pinos Altos Art FairInaddition to this art venue, visitors are lured by the ambiance of thishistoric little gold-mining town. Pinos Altos, located at an elevationof 7040 feet, began in 1860 when three frustrated 49ers stopped to takea drink in Bear Creek and discovered gold. In addition to offeringbeautiful mountain views of the Gila National Forest, the Main Streetof this charming old gold mining town, where the fair takes place,looks like an old western movie set. Many of the buildings date back tothe 1800's and have been restored and decorated with originalmemorabilia and artifacts, mostly 19th Century Americana. History buffswill enjoy their tour of the Pinos Altos Historical Museum and will belured by the appearance of Fort Cobre.
